You've Been "Friend Zoned!"

Here's a quick video shot on the iPhone 4 and edited in iMovie For iPhone.  I took this footage on the Honolulu Zoo Photowalk last night.  Enjoy!

There's An App For Your Free Bumper Or Case

Starting today, iPhone 4 owners can order their FREE bumper or case because of Antennagate.  Although I knew ordering your free bumper or case would have be associated with your Apple ID, I was surprised that Apple actually made an app for this.

It's called iPhone 4 Case Program [iTunes link] and you can find it for free in the App Store.

For those of you wanting to get a free white, pink, green, blue, or orange bumper will be disappointed.  The only bumper available through this program is black.

But, there is a good amount of normal cases available:

Antennagate: The Miniseries

So much has been said about the iPhone 4 antenna debacle that I don't feel a need to add to the soap opera drama.  Instead, I want to use this space to INFORM everyone because a lot of what you have heard about this problem may or may not be true.  So let's cut through the noise.

Right now, the one Internet source I trust about this issue is AnandTech.   This website seems to have no agenda to vilify Apple or AT&T nor give them a pass on every problem.  AnandTech also seems to know a lot about antenna problems on mobile phones.

So, after AnandTech's lengthy testing of the iPhone 4 with iOS 4.0, 4.0.1 and 4.1 beta, here are the results:

iPhone 4 Got Me On TV

I'm a morning show producer in Honolulu, Hawaii and I was able to make a comedic appearance because of my fanaticism for the iPhone. I can't embed the video here because embedding has been disabled on all of the videos but I'll post the link here:

Augmented Reality Soccer

Sometimes there is an app that so useless, yet so much fun.  It seems that ARSoccer [iTunes link] fits that bill.  It's only $.99 so I went ahead with the purchase.

Although the game called for a clean, white floor it seemed to work with my brown carpet.  In my kitchen, the tiles are white with a diamond design and the diamonds interacted with the ball!  In fact, just about any object can interact with the ball.  I even was able to use my finger to hit the ball.

Here's a video of the game:

iPhone 4 vs. Canon 7D

I have so much to say about the iPhone 4 after using it on my trip to Portland, Oregon.  If you want to see a bunch of videos I made in 720p using iMovie For iPhone check out my channel on YouTube.

But if youw want to see a professional use of the iPhone 4, check out this video comparing the latest iPhone with the Canon 7D.  Needless to say, the Canon 7D is vastly superior in most of the shots.  But, it does show how far smartphones have come in multimedia.
